Saint Le Roq is the musical project of Los Angeles based musician/producers Anon (Anna Sitko) and Kim Anh. Influenced by house, new wave, disco and post-punk music, Saint Le Roq incorporates the use of analog synthesizers, guitars, vocals and other live instrumentation with computer programming to create a retro spin on contemporary dance music.
Since their 2009 inception, SLR has released a remix for indie rock band Uh Huh Her, was featured on the soundtrack for the film Powder Blue and is currently working on their debut EP. Remixes for Science & Industry and Sam Sparro are also currently in the works.
Anon (Anna Sitko) is a longtime musician, producer and global DJ whose original compositions have been featured alongside musical acts such as Richard Devine and has released remixes for bands like Modwheelmood (Allesandro Cortini of NIN and Muse). Kim Anh is a touring and studio musician who has also composed music for film and television. Since her early beginnings in 1998, Kim Anh has become a prominent DJ within Los Angeles, NY and Paris nightlife.
Together Kim Anh and Anon founded the critically acclaimed club night, Booby Trap! (NY, LA), a disco infused dance party that has featured musical acts such as Hercules and Love Affair, Ladyhawke, and LCD Soundsystem. Booby Trap! was named in LA Weekly’s "Best Of 2009" nightlife and continues as a monthly party in Los Angeles. After working closely together as hosts and resident DJs, a musical venture between the two seemed almost inevitable. |
